Kings get Sam Bennet

By Michael Turesson (Los Angeles Kings) On Monday 22nd April 2024 / 7:49am

It seems like the Kings are shoring up their center depth with the acquisition of Sam Bennett from Chicago. Bennett can provide some additional scoring prowess from the center position, which could bolster the Kings' offensive capabilities. In exchange, the Kings are giving up some draft picks, including a second-round pick in 2025 and fourth-round picks in 2024 and 2026. It looks like a strategic move by both teams, with the Kings addressing a specific need while Chicago gains some future draft assets.

Talbot moves on

By Michael Turesson (Los Angeles Kings) On Wednesday 17th April 2024 / 11:08am

That's quite the shakeup! It seems like the Los Angeles Kings are making moves to accommodate Cam Talbot's contract situation. Trading him to the Chicago Blackhawks in exchange for Joonas Korpisalo and a 3rd round pick in 2024 shows they're looking to get value in return while addressing their goaltending needs. Korpisalo brings solid goaltending skills, and the draft pick adds to the Kings' assets. It'll be interesting to see how Talbot fits in with the Blackhawks and how Korpisalo performs with the Kings.

Jonathan Toews to the Red Wings

By Jimmy Emanuelsson (Detroit Red Wings) On Thursday 11th April 2024 / 10:30pm

Jonathan Toews will retire as a Red Wing. Earlier this season Toews stated that this will be his last season in the league.

Yeah. This is my last season. I've had some injury problems the last couple of years, so it's time to start listen to my body. Hopefully I can end my career with another cup! - Jonathan Toews

That wish might come true. The Philadelphia Flyers dealt the veteran to a steamin' hot Detroit Red Wings yesterday along with a fourth round pick in 2025, in exchange for Nick Ritchie and a second round pick this summer. The Flyers also retain 50% of Toews' salary.

His first game with his new team will be against his former team, in his former team's barn. "The Red Wings organization was kind enough to let me stay in Philadelphia and wait for the team to arrive. I will travel with the team to Toronto after this game, and I'm eager to meet my new team mates", Toews stated on a digital press conference. "I've only been in Philadelphia for half a season, but it will feel weird for sure".

He's joining up with a Red Wings team that have been on fire lately, and are expected to make a push for the Stanley Cup win this season. The team recently added Claude Giroux from the Ottawa Senators, and are expected to be active come trade deadline.

We still want to add to our roster. We believe we can accomplish something big this year! - GM Emanuelsson

When asked about the possibilities of ending a great career with a Stanley Cup win, Toews answered: "That would be a really cool way to end it!"

The Red Wings are currently sitting in 2nd place in the Atlantic Division, only trailing the Buffalo Sabres

🚨 Breaking News: Blockbuster Trade Sends Hanifin to Kings for Dubois! 🚨

In a stunning move that has sent shockwaves throughout the NHL, the Calgary Flames and the Los Angeles Kings have finalized a blockbuster trade. The Flames have agreed to send defenseman Noah Hanifin to the Kings in exchange for forward Pierre-Luc Dubois.

The trade sees two young, highly talented players swapping jerseys, each bringing their unique skills to their new teams. Hanifin, known for his solid defensive play and puck-moving ability, joins the Kings' blue line, adding depth and stability to their defensive corps. On the other hand, Dubois, a dynamic center with a knack for scoring clutch goals, bolsters the Flames' offensive firepower.

This trade is sure to shake up the landscape of both teams, as they look to capitalize on the strengths of their newly acquired players. Fans on both sides eagerly await the debut of their new stars, as they hope this trade will propel their teams to greater success in the upcoming season.

Bad start in Ottawa yet again

By Fredrik Laving (Ottawa Senators) On Tuesday 12th March 2024 / 10:40pm

As usual, the start of the season have been underwhelming in Ottawa. Four losses out of four possible will not cut it. Specially if you consider that there will only be 30 games this season.

After the 3-1 loss to New Jersey tuesday, the General Manager stated that there will be changes during the season. "If I have to trade one of our core peices to shake things up a bit, I will do that".

This was certainly not what the Senators were looking for going in to the season, as they were hoping to sneak in to the playoffs. Now it looks to be a long year. The good thing is that it's a short long year.
